Alyssa is a passionate advocate for education with firsthand experience on the Swartz Creek School Board in 2022 filling a vacancy. Her commitment to the community and dedication to fostering an inclusive and innovative learning environment drive her candidacy for a full term on the board. Alyssa aims to bring proactive solutions and a fresh perspective to support the academic and personal growth of all students in Swartz Creek.
A graduate of Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) with a bachelor's degree in Communications, Alyssa has built a diverse career over the past decade working in state associations, marked by experiences in customer service, media relations, public relations, event coordination, and nonprofit work. She has honed her organizational and communication skills to a high standard, earning accolades such as the prestigious 40 Under 40 Honoree in Genesee County, the "Great Things Award-Rise Website," multiple recognitions from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for her outstanding work in public relations and media relations, and is currently nominated as the 10 Over the Next 10 in Lansing.
Alyssa's dedication to her community extends across Mid-Michigan, and Lansing, where she passionately advocates for accessible childcare, education, and financial literacy. She has actively volunteered on school boards (Swartz Creek Community Schools and Syring PTO), volunteered for Connections to Wellness in the Creek as the Communications/Public Relations Liaison, and engaged in meaningful discussions with key stakeholders, including Governor Gretchen Whitmer, in being invited to sit on a bi-partisan Education Roundtable in Genesee County. She also has been a volunteer as an Assistant Coach for two seasons with Swarts Creek Little League Softball. Her unwavering commitment to community service and education makes her a strong candidate for the Swartz Creek Community School Board.​
Alyssa has been married for three years to her husband Brian K. Bouchard, has a daughter in third grade at Dieck Elementary, two sheltie's named Mopar and Colt and a rabbit named Rambo.
